New to VFR's... picking up an '87 VFR700. Your thoughts, please?

    Oh Ya i can at least do all the prep cut and chamber everything ,,,and have a pro weld it,, it does look pretty straight forward ,,,it would have been nicer too send a swingarm and GET it done though ,,

    This ad was posted on Craigslist Las Vegas. You don't list your home town on your profile. I thought I'd post to let you know in the event it was a scam. Otherwise, I'd be glad to take a ride with you sometime after you get that baby home.

    Sorry for the very late reply. And first of all, welcome to this forum. There is a great bunch of guys here. I am the greatest. LOL JK. I live in a small room with rubber walls.

    Well on with it. Your mileage is as previously mentioned, nothing to even concern yourself with so long as a reasonable maintenance schedule was followed and the previous owner didn't ride the shit out of it. My 06 is about to turn 85,000 miles and other than normal maintenance, nothing has gone wrong. I am smelling a bit of oil, but I also see that I have a small leak on the bottom end, so it is likely just that dripping onto the pipes. I can't see any smoke.
