Great forum here. I stumbled onto it while searching for a left muffler for my 86 VFR.

The whole V4 thing started for me with a 500 Interceptor purchased shortly after moving out of my parents home (motorycles were strictly outlawed).

I remember seeing the 86 VFR750 for the first time and thinking, I have got to get one of those one day. Five years later I purchased one and it is still residing in my garage. That bike has outlasted many girlfriends, one wife, and many different residences.

I pulled into the Rock Store the other day on my Streetglide and the guy next to me says, "There is no better sounding bike than a Harley". I replied, "yea, it does sound good, but Ill take the sound of a gear driven VFR or a Ducati with Termi's and an open clutch cover any day". His jaw almost hit the ground.

This looks like a great forum and I look forward to learning a lot from it. Thanks!

Hey welcome to the club. There are a few of us here who have passed on the v-twin for the v-4. I like both, but let's face it, the VFR gives you one hell of a great compromise of performance, sound, looks, price, durability, and probably more that I'm forgetting. I still like the v-twin rumble, but I love the character of a V4, too.

Welcome, you have quite the unique stable of motorcycles!!! I also have that '86 and I love the sound they make. I have supertrapp slip-ons that make one hell of a sound coming on around 6000rpm.

Hi, welcome. Yep, thou I love a great sound coming from a V-Twin, less harleys, there's not a better sound than my VFR, not even the 1098 gets me like my VFR does, it's a whole different game. Can ya image thou, two 1098s next to each other leaving a stop light, now thats something I bet is just down right over the top wicked.

Welcome to the fold. I agree the soud of gear driven cams and a V-4 can be an attention getter.

Thanks guys. It's good to be here. Another thing I really enjoy about these is that you just dont see to many around anymore.

Bruise Lee, I had a pair of those Supertrapps, however one of them fell off on the 405 one night at 2 AM (coming home from work). I have been looking for a long time for a mint condition left muffler. I think I might have found one yesterday. I ordered it immediately however I hope I dont get the message that it is no longer available.

A mint one (stock pipe) sold 2 weeks ago on E-Bay for 450. I bid 400 thinking I would get it, but oh well. A few days later I bid 650 for a set of brand new Kerker slip-ons and they sold for 800!!!!!
