Hey Folks, A friend of mine has an 86 vf500 . I checked the Dia. from his stock mufflers, my collector to the muffler inlet, and they are the same as my 84 vf700. It appears the only difference is the hanger brackets and possibly the centerstand bumper. Not sure if the angles are different..that would be a drawback. The hanger brackets are not a problem as I have access to a machine shop / welder to modify or fabricate mounts. There are more slipons available for the 5's than the 7's and wanted to know your input. it's much easier to ask the experts than pull my bike apart to retrofit. Thanks Much!

Inlet size is the same? You might want to double check that one. I think you'll find that the 500 slip-ons will not fit the 700.

Thanks Jamie , I will do that. I did do some other research. It seems I could go with a universal from Supertrapp.
