Interesting. Always good to have a copy of the FSM on the workbench.

Hope all goes well with dialing in the tuning.

Keep us posted on the progress.

Another update. After getting the bike to run, it stopped running again. It wouldn't start at all. Changed the plugs, managed to cross thread one (d'oh!) and then used an up tap to fix it. Still not firing. Air was there, Spark was there...gotta be a gas issue. We had replaced the vacuum line going to the petcock during the rebuild as it had been scraped up and had a hole in it...it was working though. It turns out that when we fixed the line and the normal amount of vacuum got applied that it put a hole in the diaphragm in the petcock. "Modified" the diaphragm today to become an o-ring and now it's running great. Thanks to everyone on vfrworld for all of your great posts. I would have been up the creak from the start without this place!

So, I ended up having to use this fix on my bike. Even though we had the engine apart and I ordered the correct seal, I was not sent the correct seal. I actually stuck two o rings in the seal on the bike, first an 8mm x 2mm, then a 7mm x 2mm. My leak is now gone.

It was pretty easy to do too.
