Yup. I've done this w/o problems (so far). Note that the factory bags have a built-in heat shield. I would, however, be leary of other bags, especially soft ones.

Good Choice. I run the combination and find no problems with heat. Find I believe is a 12 mm drill bit before attempting install the bags for the hole in the passenger pegs gets inlarged and bushed for the bag mounts. The directions on the bags could use a few digital photo's due to the stick drawings might show two holes in a bracket when there is 6 holes. I used an alignment tool for installing the pipes, expecially the mount by the right passenger peg. And I found it was easier to remove the tail section rather than slide it back. Bags I found can be had for $650 and pipes for less than $600. Good Luck.

The staintunes came out of the back of the AMA Magazine I believe it was CBT staintune...And the bags were from Honda and they list for a grand but the dealers pay around $650. Find a friendly dealer. Good luck, James
