Jay, buddy! the 2001 was from a poor bastard that was mean enough to shove me onto his bike, and make me take it for a test ride. I knew I already wanted one... but i forgot what 100hp felt like :) I've been riding thumpers for the last 3 years or so. Anyway, i know i know... I will probably pull the trigger. The guy sounds super nice, i love that its been indoors and taken care of.

The 99 (bike A) does kinda look like crap. the front fairing is almost pink, the right turn signal isnt sitting properly into its allocated slot. Its literally with a tiny gap between it. Great place for water to go in and "hang out." The biggest thing was when I saw rust on the chain and sprockets. i mean... youre talking new exhaust, new engine cover, new fork seals, possibly new front fairing if you can even find one, because it would probably drive me crazy riding around on a pink bike......

Anyway, thanks for keeping me straight fellers. :chaingun:

Jay, as a side note, i've had a hell of a time getting my 76 Yamaha RD400 cafe on the street, simply from jetting. So I'm a bit hard headed in the carb department. :)

    Thanks,

I own a 1993 and a 2007 and if you check my profile summary you'll see which one is for sale. Grab the older bike and ride it like you stole it!! It seems to be in great shape, was taken care of, and is barely broken in!!! If you do the math you'll see that it was ridden less than 1500 miles a year. You can easily ride it another 15 or 20 years!! I hope to give my 3rd Gen to my son one day!!!

I had a 94 750 and loved it, still regret selling it. It will be a "little" under powered compared to the 99 but the 94 is a very balanced street bike and the one your looking at seems as good as it gets for its age..Get the 750 or ask $1800 for the 800/

Nice talking to you last night Jay. And to the previous post, thats ok. I dont need the extra 10hp  I've been riding drz supermoto and ktm supermoto lately so this is a 50% increase in hp... +150lbs. Which the weight will be good for touring. All i need now is a delkevic slip on, and some bar risers. Eventually I'll replace the rubber, but I go today to the DMV with the owner, who isnt the owner. he's the owner of a dealership, so he always slapped a temp plate on it when he rode it. Its been garaged its whole life. Since he's a dealer, to complete the transaction, he has to have the bike transfered (taxes and tabs/lic fee paid) and out the door before its considered sold for him. Super nice guy anyway I got the bike for $2350 because he ate those fees. :) I was leary to post up about it since all i have is the 100 dollar deposit and a reciept stating so, the remaining balance will be paid to him this evening after we go to the DOL and then to his place for pickup. Not exactly my favorite transaction, but then again, maybe I shouldnt complain. Since its going to be registered, taxes paid, and tagged, by this evening.

To say that this guy didnt need the money, was an understatement.

Ok heres my review, i saw this post over the weekend, but was running around, and decided to wait til Monday morning.

So I went and picked the bike up. We went and did the title/transfer/tabs/new plates... it was a breeze. Got home and unloaded this gorrilla of a heavy bike from the toyo tacoma, and 15 minutes later, with a nice 78 degree day in Seattle, took my first joyride. Any of you washingtonians on here? I simply rode the backroads from Covington to Buckley, to my parents place. My initial feeling was that the front forks werent nearly as soft as some folks had said, and the front brakes felt nice and firm. The rear sure squats with my 225# frame on the bike, especially when twisting that thing on the right grip. All in all I only rode it 40 miles the first day, sunday was raining, and so here I am writing my review.

    Things I liked:
    - Ohhh that V4 sound above 6k rpms at WOT. ahhhhhh :)
    - Stock seat is pretty comfy
-Gauges are easy to read. I like the clock front and center
-Seems pretty flickable for its weight
-Front forks and brakes will be plenty good for me.
    -Plenty of power
-Carbs are 100% clean. Not a hickup, glitch, or hesitation at ANY RPM's.

Things I didnt like as much.......
    - stock can is one of the quietest I've ever heard. (Delkevic exhaust already on order)
    - Rear suspension is soft. Rear sags bad when you punch it.
    - The reach. I thought this would feel a LOT more touring, than sportbike. At 5'8" it was a decent reach. Going to have to find out ways to bring me back upright.
    - Biggest gripe is road feedback. I can feel every bump, every ripple, a decent amount of vibration through the wheels/frame. I'm not sure if its because the bike sat a while and the wheel bearings went dry? it feels like crap wheel bearings. Not sure if the entire bike needs a retorquing? Maybe the headbearing needs replacing? I can fix the rear suspension and I an fix the reach to an extent... but I hope I can get it feeling a bit smoother. Hoping its something I can work towards! :) I'm also going to get away from the 110/170 sport touring dunlops and fit them with some 120/180's.
