Hey guys! I'm Derick and I just bought my first bike on Sept. 16th. It just so happens that the gem that caught my eye was an 06 white Viffer. My roommate, some may know him on here as Byrdarian has an 07 red viffer and after hearing him brag and brag about his bike, I decided i needed to see what all the fuss was about. I knew that for my first bike I should prolly get something a little less for my first bike, but after checking out the VFR i just couldn't settle for less. I am so glad because I know i made the right decision. The white just looks so amazing and the bike itself is heaven-sent. I decided to name it Mortis, Death's pale horse. Mortis came with 18,000 miles and some pretty sweet add-ons. A corbin seat, smoke tinted headlights, a pc3, and heli bars. And today I added a new windscreen and pro-grips. Pretty proud of myself there. Me and Byrdarian have put over 230 miles in the four or five rides we have gone on since i've bought mine. I am completely in love with my bike and am stoked to steal some knowledge from everyone on this forum. There are some pictures of Mortis and me in my photo album. I look forward to meeting everyone!
Congrats and good luck on your motorcycle journey! The VFR is an awesome choice! It was my 5th bike in roughly 15 years of riding. I have often wished the VFR was my first, or at least that I found it sooner... it's the absolute perfect bike for the type of riding I like to do!! It's also very easy to ride considering it's weight... and very intuitive. Enjoy and we all look forward to hearing more of your adventures!!
dmob good choice on the VFR . My first street bike was a 84 Interceptor in 84 and thats what started my love of riding all over again coming from dirt bikes . Get your Buds and take a long trip some where and create some AWESOME memories. My first trip the year I got mine was Laguna Seca , rode up with about 15 friends from LA and after the races one bud and I flipped a coin to figure which way to head out and ended up at Crater Lake. That had to be the most exciting trip I ever took, no plans where we were going , just ride , ride and ride . So any ways take it SLOW and ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -(;#
She looks almost as good as the red one behind her. So Eugene on Sunday? Let's get a real ride in : )
You do know that red is the fastest color! Just kidding. You have got a gem there. And Byrd is a good pally to have riding with you. Oh, I'm from Astoria, but living in Phx. Wish I had your twisty roads!
Nice machine Derick and welcome. It is great that you have a riding mate, makes all the difference. Enjoy a great bike.
