Just 13 days after I bought my first 86 VFR700f RWB I picked up a second one. Another RWB 700f. For info on my first bike go here: http://vfrworld.com/forums/1st-2nd-...picked-up-my-first-interceptor-yesterday.html

I did not plan on picking up a second VFR but this one was too good of a deal to pass up. The bike has just over 6k miles and is just about all original except for some after market pipes. I have never heard of kerker pipes, does anyone know anything about them? The only problem is that it is missing the carbs (I have no idea why they got separated from such a good condition bike).

The bike has been sitting for a while (last inspection sicker was from 2001). My original plan was to use the bike as a parts bike for my first bike, but after a good pressure washing, and a good looking over it proved to be too nice to take parts from. I pushed the bike to turn over the engine and it seems ok. So my plan is to just make two running bikes. So does anyone have a set of carbs for sale ? I also need the top to an airbox. I didn't take to may pictures but there are no cracks anywhere on the body panels. The only cosmetic issue is a small scuff on the right side panel just below the "R" and some slight directional sag. O yeah and did I mention I got a clean title with it.

Nice score! Nice pictures! Kerker was an old time manufacturer of pipes back in dah 70s/80s. Not sure if they are still around or if they merged with someone else.

The tires are like new, still have nubs on them and they are not dry rotted at all. I paid $600 for everything.

Great find. Kerker was THE performance pipe in the early 80's. Their 4 into 1 was what everybody put on their bikes. I'm not sure what kind of performance gains they provided but the sound was what really sold them. [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]SuperTrapp purchased Kerker exhaust in 1991 and still sells pipes under that name. They are available from J&P among others.

You got it for a steal. I wouldn't have passed it up either. I'm glad you're liking the 2nd Gen. It is a great ride. Right now, I'm switching between my 2nd Gen and 6th Gen and I'm loving it.

Wow. Kerker pipe, AND the seat cowl WITH the pad. Look on ePrey for carbs, it's worth the effort to get it running.

Just a tidbit of advice- do not power wash your motorcycle again, I have heard way too many horror stories of people that power washed their motorcycles or bicycles and regretted it.

Leave the high pressure to your auto and give some TLC to your bikes, they need it.

    Grammar police here.

'Older than me' is correct, as used above. 'Older than I am' is also correct, but 'older than I', not so much.

Disclaimer: All said in good fun!

Could you please be a little more specific as to why this is bad.

The bike had been sitting for 10 years. Every part of the bike was covered in 10 years of dust. The chain was already completely rusted. none of the plastics or the gas tank were on the bike. The battery, airbox, and carbs were not on the bike. I blocked off every open hole. I don't really see what could have gone wrong or be much different than riding through the rain at 70mph. I am a where of the damages that the high pressure can cause to clear coat, and for this same reason it is also not that good to pressure wash autos.

I don't mean for this to sound like an attack. I did take all the precautions and am just wondering if I missed something.
