After noticing a couple of bulbs were not lighting my gauges properly I decided to remove the mid panels, fairing and instrument cluster from my VFR.

Found three dead bulbs and having seen some mods here using LED bulbs I decided to give it a go.

    Found these at Jaycar http://www.jaycar.co...10&form=KEYWORD

Brought four of the blue T10 wedge bulbs and fitted to my instrument gauges with the result looking like this Jaycar T10 LED wedge bulb.jpg

Pretty happy with how relatively easy and inexpensive it was to do and the outcome. VFR strip clean and refresh 053.jpg

Great cool factor there. But I prefer the red and orange light. They have less interference effect on the eyes when driving at night. I had to get the dealership to tone down the high beam indicator on my truck cause I found it too bright. You won't loose any of your night vision capabilities when looking at light that is in the red spectrum but anything in the blues, greens or whites will affect your night vision to some degree for a short period of time. I really don't think your lights come anywhere close to being a hazard but for me, it would just be the comfort level. Sux getting old.

Ok, I found them. Did a search for T10 on that site.

Ya know. That may not be enough light to be an issue. My truck's High Beam Indicator was quite bright. But if you decide to change the colour of the light, I would go with fuchsia. That is such a pretty colour.

Speaking of truck....its in the shop...lights.....Seems every time i rip down the highway at 100 mph these blue and red lights start falshing all over the fuggen place. JK. Seems I am getting stuck in a three way battle between a truck dealership and Futureshop over a light issue.

I had Scott Woodruff over at Bluegauges.com remove the amber turn signal LED's in my dash panel and install Purple ones Randy. Does that count? :noidea:

And FYI I actually do have some spare Pink dash panel LED's leftover for the 6th gen. bikes that I picked up on Ebay. (they just aren't bright enough, that's why I didn't use them) I mean, you know, just in case you were wanting any.

It really is a pain to replace those dash lights.

I prefer the red lighting....but after staring at the Red instrument panels of my 1st and 2nd gen (and my car) the 4th gens Green lighting was quite nice.

I have White LED blubs waiting to go in the dash. Hoepfully by next season my bike will be 100% non halogen blub'd.

It' really not that bad to change these... remove mirrors/remove windscreen/remove rubber dash top/miniaturize hands/remove old bulb holders & bulbs & replace with LEDs...

    ...wait. It does suck.
