Installed the CW kit on my '09. The fit was very good. The kit came with 4 hex keyed bolts with nuts to attach the license plate, smooth finish. Also, came with 3 black plastic plugs to plug the old bolt holes from the oem fender, the 4th is used to run the light's wire up through. When attaching the light, I had to tape the nuts in a wrench to get them started, tight fit there. The CW aluminum plate is held to the chassis by 2 bolts provided in the kit. I used some thread locker on these just in case. Overall easy install, also lost 1 or 2 pounds and improved aerodynamics, bike is now faster. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

As of 2009 all U.S. motorcycle plates are 7"x4" with the exception of MN (7-3/16" x 4-3/16"). I had to trim my plate just a little (probably not even 3/16"). So, yea it will work.

Hi, No difficulty with the wiring. You must disconnect the light harness, it's under the seat and to the rear. There is a white connector, simply undo and fish the pigtail out under the rear tail section and when reconnecting fish it up through one of the vacant bolt holes and then reconnect the white connectors. You'll see how it routes once you begin the process. Show us when your done, good luck!

    Hi Highway Star

What size was your number plate and how small did you have to make it for this Fender Eliminator ?

    Cheers

His plate, like most U.S. plates, fit without modification, there is just enough room. My Georgia plate fit without issue. I would also like to mention my kit came with very nice hardware to mount the plate, looks like that's what he used on his. I agree the only challenge to this mod is getting the nuts onto the license plate light, I cursed the designer a few times while fiddling with them. I managed to get them started by hand, but it took a few tries.

One other obstacle I forgot to mention. When removing the front 2 screws under the seat, they have a strange flat nut under the fender, they will want to rotate, so you'll have to use some vise-grips (small) to hold the flat nuts while removing the 2 screws. Hope this helps!

I saw your post regarding the free fender eliminator and thought, "Wouldn't you know it!" Oh well, received my fender eliminator in the mail yesterday and will probably install tonight. Still, for those who haven't coughed up the money for an FE kit, I'm sure they'll appreciate your post. Thanks!

Strangely enough torrential rain yesterday meant the VFR was back in the garage for an afternoon! So I got the dremel out and did the free tail tidy and free triangle plate lowering trick, and finished off by the free triple clamp adjustment to the forks. At last I can put both feet comfortably on the floor and that hideous stock tail is history.

To meet EU rules I even recycled the rear reflector which is stuck with epoxy to the back of the numberplate lamp - and works a treat. Sadly French/Euro plates are a lot larger, so will never fit between the cans like the US ones do. But even so it is now bolted onto the rear carrier frame as high as I can mount it. Today I went down to the local metal works, and arranged for them to cut 10cm out of the side stand and reweld it to restore the orginal lean angle. Thankfully I still seem to be able to get the bike on and off the centre-stand OK - so for now won't be modifying it. However I still need to take the bike for a few progresssive test runs on some local twisties to check that after lowering nothing grounds out - should be interesting - before taking a few quick circuits round my favourite roundabout :)

I should have mine either today or tomorrow, and honestly purchased it through word of month vs a pic obviously haha. Not to be a d*ck but just saying...take some pictures and upload to your reply vs making people search all the time - it's EASY and takes 1sec naaa 1msec
