Another Stebel horn mounting location, very easy install...

Here's another option for mounting the Stebel horn that I came up with, it uses the OEM horn location so it makes wiring pretty easy but it also requires relocating the left brake line mounting, but other than that it was pretty easy to install.

In Pic 1 you can see the left brake line mounting bracket was moved from the bottom to the top of the bracket, I replaced the bolt with a longer one that extended past the mounting nut, and then used a nut with a lock washer to mount the brake line to the bolt. Also notice that the right brake line was unbolted from the bracket and is just hanging there.

Pic 2 shows the rest of the parts you will need for this project, a long bolt plus a spacer. Plus of course the longer bolt and nut for the left brake line...

Pic 3 shows it mounted, notice that you need to fit the right brake line mounting bracket between the spacer and the mounting bolt bracket, just bolt it up and tighten it down, easy peasy. :)

Pic 4 shows it with the faring on, i don't like how it is so exposed so I'm going to try and fab a cover and run the wiring through some tubing, but all in all I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. I paid an extra $30.00 for the horn relay kit so wiring it was a snap, took all of ten minutes.

Hopefully this will help others, the Stebel is what I would consider one of the best investments you can make to keep your hide in one piece.. Plus it is a whole bunch of fun to watch the cell phones and coffee go flying when you lay into it, the soccer mom with their head up their ass trying to change lanes into you will need to change their underwear :)

That looks like a very BAD idea, for 2 reasons.

    1. That will hit the front fender/tyre at full compression on the brakes !

    2. Adding weight to the steering mass is never a good idea from a handling perspective.

    Good luck with that :frown:

Ahh good point on issue number one, I'll check that out and confirm and if it does hit then I'll need to relocate, thanks for pointing that out! Point two, not so much, the weight would be added no matter where you added it to the front, this isn't a MotoGP bike where each ounce is important, this is a commuting bike, the weight is neglible and if it was an issue others would have noted it when they have mounted it as well.
