I didn't say everything America makes is crap, far from it, I have Corbin seats, Dynatech power Commander IIIs and Racetech springs on all 3 of my regular bikes because nobody else out there (that I'm aware of) makes a better product for the price. I also have wave rotors, race levers, fairings and LED lighting from China, mufflers from Japan and HID lights from Germany for the same reason.

Using a $150,000,000 aircraft to say that America builds good value for money equipment doesn't hold much water on this board, on the MV-Augusta board maybe.

From what I read, China is doing more to clean up lead based products than the US is doing to stop obesity in children. Every country has their demons.

I'm not saying don't buy American, I'm saying don't just avoid any foreign manufacturer until you have done some real, current research.

BTW Badbilly, I'm a director at a 250 person very AMERICAN construction company, and yes, I do shop at Walmart, they sell rebranded Yuasa batteries for half of the price of branded ones.

Corbin seats ain't all that good. If somebody just has to have one, order it through a dealer. Then if it's substandard the dealer is reponsible for the shipping charges. Sent one back on a BMW three times because they were using drywall screws that were poking me in the ass.

I hope you are not implying that the federal lead abatement law is being observed in China or are you saying that all little fat dudes should be eating more rice and fewer of that greasy shit from McDs?

Most of us here are savvy (tenemos saber) that Wally's sells Yuasa batteries under a different label. Buy enough of anything from nearly any source and they will label it any way ya want. Well maybe not HD.. That for reasons we are all savvy about too.

Never heard of a "director" at a construction company unless that is some desk jocky job with a fancy name. Having spent many years in Texas mself, I will cut you some slack on the Texas BS..

Now for the burning question. If F22 Raptors were made in China, would you want to fly one?

Ahh, your company must be one of those secret outfits run by one of Dick Cheny's shadow corporations or maybe one of Rick Perry's darlings.

No Harley's, thanks. Some of the guys may have questions about the Chinese parts on them if you are prepared to answer.

I may have you whupped on those "American" parts. Racetech suspension on my 91 for about ten years and a K&N air filter. ooorah!

Insight? Got that too along with a BS meter that operates really well.

Since you are crowing about being "the big boss man" , maybe save that shit for your crew. Here, all us pigs is pretty much equal.

I agree with you on the fat kids but that's the parents fault and if you ask me it should be a crime (unless medical reason) and the parents parents should be held accountable. It takes a while to die from obesity and you do have time to correct it. Lead poisoning on the other hand is much faster, painful and unless someone makes you aware of it (unless you are in a very old building with paint peeling off the walls and you can see it) who would EVER think anybody is DUMB enough to paint KID'S toy's with it! China does make a few decent products but the majority of products are crap. And what they do to their people and our environment is criminal. For example has there ever been any other country that had to shut down all industry for weeks to clear the air of pollution so they could hold the olympic games. By the way have you ever seen a picture from space of the area?

Wanting to equip myself better about the real facts, I spent some time doing a little research and I agree with the point that China still has an air pollution problem, of course in the articles I did read it equates their problems to cities like LA and Mexico City so again, it's fine to pin the tail on this donkey but it's not just a Chinese problem. The same goes for lead based paints, I applaud what they have done so far, but they need to do more. Obesity may be the parent's problem, but is simply establishing that going to stop the future deaths of those children? They are going to end up just as dead.
Finally saying that "China has a few decent products and the rest are crap" is a wholly unquantifiable statement. I agree that they make a lot of crap, as do a LOT of other countries in the world.

I think this argument is like politics, religion or what the best oil is to use in your bike, if you don't like Chinese products, don't buy them, but don't get belligerent when somebody doesn't share your views.

Ve vill do chust az you zey Mein Kapitan.

With so much Chinese plastic on your bikes, maybe a little less time pushing paper and not busting the OEM plastic would reduce some of China's pollution problem.

In another venue, someone who is as important as yourself maybe could talk Rick Perry into distributing some of those bucks in his coffers to the schools to re-up the PE programs and do away with the junk food so there at least won't be that many little fat dudes in the Austin schools. Texas has a fine tradition of cowgirls in tightass jeans from The Gap or Nieman-Marcus that should IMO not be violated.
