I ordered a Battlax B45F 100/90-16 from Bike Bandit, and they shipped me a 110/90-16. Can I mount this tire? and if so, is steering/handling compromised?
    Thanks:confused:

No problem. I'm running that exact same tire (BT-45) and size on my 500.

Interestingly, the "H" rated tire for the 2.5" rim is a 100/90-16. Apparently I ordered the "V" rated tire, which is 110/90-16 for the 2.5" rim. Thanks for the replies. I've put a couple hundred miles on the bike since I got it running, with the original 1984 front tire still on the bike (5300 miles)! I'll breathe a lot easier once I mount the new tire! The PO had mounted a new BS Battlax on the rear, at least. Looks like NO miles put on it until I got it.

I will have to check but I did the same thing, and was not happy with the change. Going back to a smaller one next year.
EDIT: I checked the invoice it says 120/90 18. It is a Dunlop sport.

    Can't get the tire on

[IMG]Arrgh! I cannot get the BT 45 V 110-90 on the front VF500 rim. I have mounted dozens of tires on my trusty Harbor Freight Chinese tire jig, but this one just....won't.....go!
I'm gonna take it by the Stealer's after work on Tuesday and see if they can get it on, but I just can't get it. The tire is stretched very hard in the pic attached, and I can't get any more of it under the rim. Anybody have any feedback?
    Thanks

I had my local bike shop (non-dealer) put mine on and they didn't mention any problems with it. I'm betting that their equipment is better than yours which is probably what makes the difference. I bet they won't have any trouble. Also, your photo isn't showing.
