Getting ready to order a Sargent seat, my only concern is that it uses vinyl rather than leather ( I noticed the Corbin uses leather), I'm wondering if the vinyl might not breathe as well...has the vinyl been an issue for anyone? Other than that it looks like it'll be an improvement over the stock seat.

Never had an issue with the vinyl fabric not breathing. Not sure I understand what kind of problem you're worried about. And YES the Sargent is better than the stock seat. Corbin is too, I imagine. A pineapple is probably better than the stock seat . . .

Leather doesn't breathe any easier. Get the seat. I've had mine for a couple months and absolutely love it. Make sure you get the quick release pins for the seat cowl so you can take full advantage of the small storage compartment the two piece design offers.

Got the seat a few days ago. It took a bit of doing to put the cowl back on, the new seat causes the holes which the cowl pins insert into, to be partially blocked by the bodywork because it is a slightly different size seat than stock, wider I think. Anyway, I fooled around with it and did get the cowl back on but I won't be taking it off unless I really need to.

I sat on the seat and it seemed like a big improvement, probably at least partially because the stock seat had gotten soft with age. I like a firmer seat. Have not had a chance to ride it with the new seat yet.

Attached a pic with the new seat and Recon 19 tank bag.

Love the color of your bike. Mine needs to be repainted and you have me thinking I should just go a different color.

And yeah, the sargent seat is a good purchase if you plan on keeping the bike. I kept my original seat and put it on the bike for a track day.

<==== me at Little Talladega GP last year.

Some slight modifying of the inside of the seat cowl makes it fit better. The seat will take a couple hundred miles to break in. Mine became sublime after about 3000 miles.

My 5th gen came with a Sargent and my CBR1100xx came with a Corbin. I thought they would be similar but to me the Corbin is a way better seat. I rode on the Sargent for the better part of a year till I tracked down a Corbin smuggler for my VFR. Switched to that about 18 months ago and have never looked back. Still have the Sargent spare in-case I ever have to carry a passenger. Just my 2c, but I far prefer my Corbins. Recently bought one for my Hayabusa, not su sure about that one, but no question on the other 2.
