Well, my shiny perfect condition 2000 mile VFR took a nice spill yesterday. Semi carrying a couple dozen pallets of lemons slammed into the median on the freeway and spilled it's entire load over the road. By the time I had gotten there CHP were waving cars through 1 at a time, the lemons that had been run over and had turned into a pulpy ice rink over the freeway. I had a bad feeling before I even started over but the CHP were waving me through and I didn't want to hold up traffic so I went through, about 10 meet into the mess my rear tire started sliding out and I couldn't catch it, so we both ended up on our side in a pool of lemons. Damage includes scratched right and front fender, damaged engine case, broken brake levers front and rear, scratched passenger peg, and bruised ego. 200 to fix everything except the fairings, I can't file an insurance claim because my insurance is sure to go up since the other party would be the CHP. #*@#&$^#&@&!!!!

BTW does anyone know where I can find a cheap replacement rear brake pedal? Ideally less than 60 bucks would be great.

$78 at Ron Ayres, best to just bite it off and get a new one. P/N 46500-MCW-D60.

I've found a "less damaged" version of my brake pedal on ebay for 20 bucks, might just do that... I don't know what to do. So bummed. I don't think I would feel as bad if I had done something wrong or made a mistake but to be completely powerless to watch your investment go sliding across the pavement sucks a$$. @MiddleTBabb sorry to hear about your bodywork problems, I think it's time we invested in some frame sliders...
