Just got my son a 85 vf700 interceptor. Not familar with these bikes at all. Im wanting to do usual stuff like oil change, clean carbs and carb sync. Ive already changed the clutch and brake fluid. Now my question is about the carb sync. Where exactly is the ports you hook up the vaccum gauge? Does anyone have a good write up on this and maybe a few pictures?

carb synch ports are thread in using a 5mm adapter on the side of the intake port just below the rubber carb boot. buy the motionpro tool, and use it. trust me.

its taking me some time to do mine, but I need intakes on mine.

Ok now i really need some help. My son took off the air box and the air box plate and took the carbs off. Now here is the thing. He dont remember where all the plastic gas lines go and he has no ideal where he unhooked the gas line from the pump. Anyone got any good pics?

Sorry to hear that, obviously he would have done better to do some reading and research before going in like a china shop bull and breaking stuff apart with no clue--unfortunately these things are not very forgiving and those plastic fuel tees are very expensive and the carb synch springs are critically vital...

Where are you guys located--maybe somebody close by could help you get it back together.

On top of my original problem the carb bowls are sealing for some reason and I thing 2 of them are leaking. I could really a pic or 2. I dont want him to loose interest in it.

    Carb rebuild

I found the Sabmag website a good resource for rebuilding the carbs on my bike. There is a good walk through and explanation of how the carbs work under maintenance tips.

+1 on the SabMag suggestion. The Compleat® SabMag Links

Not a good thing that he separated the carbs. They're not trivial to get back together, and for most work you don't need to separate them. Too late!
