Well, it's been a while since I announced my intention to buy a stich as they are called by those in the know. ;) I searched and scoured...dug through trashbins. Followed ebay night and day, often losing hours upon hours of sleep. Ok, so I may be exaggerating a little.

A year or two ago after talking to many owners of them, I decided for an aerostich as my one piece riding suit of choice. I even went so far as to contact aerostich with my sizing info, and start saving. I had every intention of paying full price.

Now those of you who know me know that I like my money. It's hard for me to part with it. I like to get new things, but I almost automatically translate them into the number of hours I work to trade for them. This keeps me from spending too much, or it's makes me irritating beyond belief to dealers who want a spontaneous buyer.

Yet another crash sapped my savings and the stich dream was pushed back for a while. Randomly enough I was reading another online forum that I frequent and I found someone selling a stich in what I thought would fit me. I called him talked about his size vs my size and the condition of the suit.

Long story short I sent a check, and and some time last week, I tried on my stich for the first time.

my size is 44 L . FYI or for comparisons sake, I am 6'1" and around 205 lbs. IMO the suit would handle up to 2 or 3 in taller and a little bigger in the gut, but no bigger in the shoulders. I maybe could have gotten away with a 44R but it might have been close on the legs.

Too soon for any impressions yet, but after a few thousand miles I'll get a review up. The fit and finish is pretty awesome, though.

These suits are awesome! I've been using the same one-piece since 1996. Seen me all over NZ, riding in the UK, Vancouver to Prudhoe Bay and back. A true friend. No longer as red as it once was, but definitely the suit of 1000 stories.

    Lots of luck with yours.

One piece is dah-way to fly. I have a neon (hi-viz) suit and think its dah cats ass! Had a two piece in old NJ and bought it big cause I used to run a lectric vest under it along with multiple layers. This one I gots I bought so it fits with jeans and a t-shirt. The old two piece suit you had to avoid a full length mirrors cause you looked like the Michelin Man ; )

Commuting duty its dah best damn thing you could own! Enjoy it

One caveat though...Non-Riding slack jawed mouth breathers will look at you like your from MARS...Fuck Em

I've got a buddy that got one a year or so ago. He's got over 38K miles on his, crashed in it once and other than it being a bit dirty he loves it. He even had the velcro for knee sliders installed as an option when he ordered.

We stopped for gas one time and the lady in line behind me asked if they were doing work on the gas lines in the area or something lol, she thought he was on his break. He also went with the high vis yellow one.

8 years in mine and still going strong. A couple years ago I broke a zipper and called Aerostich, they sent a complete zipper pull replacement kit out immediately, no charge. Can't beat the customer service.

Having it a little big in the torso on a Roadcrafter is a good thing-lets air circulate when it's hot-gives you room for a windstopper/insulating layer for cooler weather. Great all-around gear.

The custamer service is amazing. I wore out the velcro on the upper half of my old suit and sent it back and they replaced both the hook and the loop parts of the jacket of real cheap (maybe $25.00) dont quote me though.

Had the opportunity to low side in the one piece and it did a good job of protecting my arse. Wish my right thumb faired as well.

Still wear the shit out of my perfed out Vanson jacket down here in south FL. The Aerostich gets commuter duty and when I know its gona rain I don it! Makes your machine sooOOOOOOoooooOOO accessible

I can't believe Aerostich hasn't contacted you about becoming a full time model.
