just for a bit of an update...

    items taken/sold
    brake rotors/pads
    seat
    tank
    rear cowl
    frame/title
    upper fairing/windscreen
    right side hand control
    brake lever
    mufflers
    taillight assembly
    spark units
    carb boots/insulators

still have the F2 shock from JD, if no one is interested within the next day or two its going up on ebay as well as other parts

also have the tires, ive had interest in them but they were kinda iffy about buying used tires, but these tires have less than 300 miles, and they still have some of the little 'stub' things, especially on the front, on them.

DOH!! Too late, I nabbed them for my cb550. Yeah I know mines a 75 and they don't have the vintage look as the original round mirrors but with the vf500 mirrors I can actually see what's behind me now.

Cut me some slack guys will ya? My kids motor literally falls to pieces, then he posts it here for parting it out and right when everyone starts wanting stuff, the punk takes off for college in Vincennse and sticks me with the job of not only taking it apart but stuffing stuff in boxes to mail them. Bum deal if you ask me. And for those of you who have already paid up and are patiently or impatiently waiting for your stuff to get mailed, RELAX because come hell or high water you WILL get it. It's the bigger stuff that requires a big box is what is killing me because too big of a box is where UPS or USPS really sticks it to you in regards to shipping cost. And to whoever wanted the mufflers, rotors, brake pads, I FINALLY got it in the mail today. To keep costs down I mailed it "parcel post" which means it still may take a while for you to get it but the package is insured. Finding the right size box for that was a PITA.

Another thing my son is struggling with is coming up with a price that is both a good deal to you guys on this site but yet not giving it away from his point of view so if you don't like his price, don't be shy about it, make him an offer. The worst he can say is no. Some of the stuff he literally has given away but that was because the buyers were people who have been and still are contributing helpful advice to all of us rookies.

Just so you all know the jets that are in the carbs are 1 step richer than stock. The bike had overheating issues when we first got it and the spark plugs looked like it was way too lean so going with richer jets not only took care of the overheating but the engine ran a lot stronger as well. Can't remember right off hand what size they are other than they are 1 step richer than the stock 85 vf500f jets.

Nah the biggest issue is getting motivated enough to actually want to do something once I get home from work then once I do then finding the right size box is an issue. My son did make an effort to supply me with flat rate boxes from USPS but they only go so big. Then to complicate issues my wife tore some ligaments in her knee the other day which may require surgery so I don't want her carrying anything up the steps to the post office which means I have to go to the post office myself and that's a challenge because unless I'm able to get off work on time which I'm not always able to do, I can't make it there in time before the post office closes. I've already had 1 instance this week where I was a minute or 2 too late and had to wait the next day.
