Well they dropped the price enough for me to go ahead and pay for the matching top box and mounting hardware. The install went well, messing around with the keys for the lock to be able to match my ignition key was fun but we managed to do it. Over all I would say that in person the top box seems a little on small size but time will tell. It will be nice to toss my day trip items in the box and not worry about the sudden thunderstorms this time of the year. I would rate this install at one beer.

Sure sure but I've been a little busy and my main LapTop died so I'm limping along for a few more days until I fully recover. I haven't had a chance to load up the box yet but it stayed on for the ride to work and a little spin after work couldn't tell it was back there. I didn't really like the looks of the top box in the pictures of other member’s posts but it's not bad and is growing on me as I walked by it several times today. As to the question of is it worth it for the money I don't know yet but how much is it worth to keep day trip items dry? My next trip will be for 4 or 5 days at the end of September for Fall Thunder at the Beach Panama City Beach FL. I will take some pictures but it will look just like all the other Honda matching top boxes except for the exhaust and a few dead bugs.

I too would like to see the pictures. Do you also have the hard bags?

I've found the OEM side bags to be disappointingly small... :( Am interested in hearing about and seeing the top.

    Pics? Sure!
Will hold my Shoei XR (or RF) 1100 Medium if I put it in at a slight angle.
Holds a TFX Futura shock with remote preload adjuster and reservoir AND my work bag AND my thermos without me feeling anything.
Will make the bike start vibrating at 145 mph due to its flexible mounting. Not that you can't go any faster beyond that.
Waterproof, great hinges and locks. Don't forget to lock it with the key or it stays open. Happened a few times while chatting.
    Great paint job.

wow, for a top bag, that thing looks REALLY good. im dying to see somebody with the factory side bags, and eventually (hopefully) a 2010 rig with all 3 mounted up. this may just change my mind about the 2010's!

    Looks good!
I just ordered the side bags, but won't be putting the top bag on. I'll post pics when I've got them. Also ordered the rear wheel hugger....$80 for a 20 cent piece of plastic....

Due to the price I still don't have a rear hugger but after my preload adjuster seized I'll have to reconsider...
The top box was on when I picked up the bike a year ago and I don't hate the looks with it on and it's just so convenient. Go for an errand around town, a mall or whatever and just pop the helmet into the top box and you don't need to carry your helmet around.
It's a first for me and good enough for two-up day trips. I didn't want the side bags as my other bike has those and I used them once in 8 years...

A tip: we've established before that some of these bikes (i.e. mine) have notoriously difficult locks from day one. Someone suggested graphite powder - dry lubing - so I picked up a bottle, filled every lock with it and they are smooth as can be now. Since I open and close the box at least twice a day all year round, the locks welcomed the treatment and have never been this good.

I have the tank bag and side bags, but no top...
My biggest complaints are that the tank bag doesn't have a clear window, and the side bags are smaller than I'd like.

I managed a little run this last Sat and didn't even know the top box was there but sure enjoyed being able to put stuff in and forget about it until I needed it.

Update: I would have to say that I really like the Top Box, it will hold my XL Nolan 102 modular or xxl Olympic air glide jacket, 12 packs or even an 18 pack for a short distance. The new rear passenger handles made it easier to strap my back pack on, over all it's one of the best $800 I've spent on accessories, still a lot of money but the Top Box is very handy which makes it easier to justify spending the money.

I wish somebody would make hardbags and topboxes that had some of those programmable LED light arrays built in so I could advertise all the shit I could carry in them. Numero uno would of course be my Burger King skivvies to pick up chicas.

Looks really good! Did you want a clear window on the tank bag for a map?
Do you have a photo of the bike with the saddlebags and the top box on?

Those top boxes are great for tailgate parties for midget wrestling.
