Been a Deauville rider for 3 years and considering trading in for a 2011 VFR800.

Is it still considered to be an up to date and value for money package?

Any known technical or reliability issues?

reliability? not a concern with a newer bike, as long as you care for it properly. by 2011, I would like to HOPE they've ironed out all the issues with the 800 platform.

as far as being up to date, I cant comment, as I consider what was new in the 80's to be up to date. shut up, I know I'm behind the times.

Honda stopped making the VFR800 in 2009. Are you talking about the new 1200cc model?

No Honda stopped importing the 800 to the US. It's still made and sold in other countries. The 800 is as reliable as a rock, no problems you can't go wrong there. Now as far as a value and up to date...in the US it's close to hell no. The bike is basically a 2002 bike rebadged for nearly 10 years now, value just isnt there for this bike the US dollar is partly to blame because a brand new bike sold for roughly 12,000 while it's competitors were undercutting it significantly. But if the VFR is the bike you want you can't go wrong getting it. Sorry if I sound a little one sided, it truly is an awsome bike just not a good competitor
