I just installed an FMF Apex exhaust on my low mileage 06. I have an opportunity to buy a very lightly used Power Commander but wanted to check here if there were any significant benefits in installing one? I would program it with an FMF Apex specific map. TY.

The Power Commander may help smooth out the Vtec transition. Saver your money for suspension upgrades.

Saturday I sat on an 03 Viffer that had Racetech springs and Gold Valves in the forks. He caught a killer deal on an Ohlins rear shock. The front did not bounce no matter how hard I tried. I could get it to compress and then it just returned. That bike was setup NICE!

I have a set of Leo Vince pipes on my 07'. I ran it for two seasons with the stock computer, then last year installed a Power Commander PC III. It made a drastic difference in taking away a bad flat spot around 4000-4500 rpm! Gives really smooth power delivery all across the rpm range now. That was my goal for the Power Commander, so to me it was well worth it.

The VTec transition is still there. It may have smoothed it out a little...Maybe. It's basically the same transition, if you come into it with mild throttle it's near seamless. If you come into it hard on the throttle, it's abrupt.

    Good Luck.
