I have a 1986 honda vfr700f that has been running great until recently when it just stopped. it will turn over but will not start and the plugs are not getting any spark. If anyone can help please comment asap! I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! .

either your CDI failed, or you have dead plugs. OR, your killswitch has failed and is cutting spark. I know my 84 will turn over, but will NOT start if the switch is OFF.

Study the wiring diagram, then check that you have about 12 volts going to the CDI wire from the run/off switch. Also check that you have ground connection at the CDI plug.

(Sorry, i don't have my service manual close by so i can find the proper wire to test.)

If you have volts, the CDI may have to be replaced. They seldom just crap out, but high voltage spikes due to failing r/r can destroy them.

My '83 did a similar thing about a month ago. Ended up being one of the CDI packs between the seat and the tail light. Does your tach needle move at all while cranking the engine over?
