Absolutely love my BATES boots!!! I am on my second pair. First pair I wore two holes thru the shifter pad which was repaired by a kick ass shoe cobbler, er shoe maker. No disparaging monikers sorry. Dude is a cobbling genius. First pair I bought in 92 and only know this because Bates write the date down on the inside of the label. Got the Fast lanes with velcroed toe sliders, and recently got a replacement pair in 05 which were re-soled and are great.

I crashed hard on the racetrack in Alpinestars and the backs of my feet above the heels were the same colour as your tyres. Black!!! No broken bones or anything. Had a pair of Prexport boots I ended up sending back cause the soul pulled away from the shoe. They sent me a new pair and I raced about half a season in them and they literally fell apart. I have a pair of Prexports I bought in Italy and they are more street oriented and are water proof.

I wouldnt race in the Bates boots just cause they are a little light on armour but are fine for street duty. Hope this helps, btw I got a new pair of deerskin gloves to replace a bagged out pair I been wearing the shit out of. Think they are a tad big and may end up being sent back for a smaller size. Cheers....

These just went on sale at Revzilla for 10% off, free shipping, and they pay the sales tax if you live in PA. I just ordered a pair. $325.00 - 10% = $292.50 to the door.

Those Falcos do look good, though!
