Is it worth it right now to get a Power Commander if I cannot afford new exhaust for a few months?

The PC will help smooth the flat spot around 5k and also possibly help with your VTEC transition if you consider it to be rough/noticeable (this part is debatable - some say it does some say it doesnt).

In the end its personal preference. If I could afford the PC - I'd get one even prior to the exhaust yes.

If it were me, I'd spend the money dialing in your suspension for your rider weight and style.

Worry about HP after you have the handling to use it properly.

But that's just me. Suspension doesn't look cool like an exhaust

+1 Spend your money on the suspension.

Rather, invest your $$ in an IRA and/or 401k

Power commander and set up suspension, worry about exhaust later, or gut the stock cans for some extra noise, much cheaper!! Suspension will definately be your biggest benefit for rideability and performance though, the stock ECU and map does just fine, and you get better fuel mileage!!

    no problem at all
you likely won't notice a huge power gain, but the map should be a little smoother
