No problem .. I Understand that there will be doubters...

The radiator is not even an issue. If anything the tire/ fender would hit the head first.
but as I've said over & over with pulling the fork caps there is still clearance. And with the fork caps in place the forks are never going to be compressed to that extent.

As for a "custom" fender .... I wouldn't call triming a couple inches off the back of the fender custom

speaking of fenders the f2 fender is hidious. I'm looking into a 3rd or 4th gen VFR fender

The only issue I see so far with the swap is the fork tubes do rub the brackets for the turn signals.. I'm not sure if this is just this bike (its been dropped) or would be the same on all vf500's ..

either way, I plan on changing the front turn signals ..for a cleaner more "modern" look anyway

It looks workable to me. But don't forget about fork flex. The lowers on my 500 have pretty good clearance to the tire, but if I'm on the brakes REAL hard, I can rub the tire. Granted, mine are wimpy 37mm.
    Just a thought.
    Mike.

    I think it's too bulky

I just sprayed some white on it to get an idea of what it would look like.

maybe add some red to the fender? paint the fender red?
I have a candy red powder that is really close to the red on the bike.. powder coat the wheels red? but then I'm afraid with the dark wheels the fender would look even "bigger

When you have a chance could you take a side elevation from a bit further back?

Aesthetics are always a bit subjective but I would tend to agree that the fender is too 'heavy' in appearance - in part I believe this is created in how the fender meets the fork sliders on the F2’s design.

The VF500F fender is a tough one to top in terms of sculpting and integration into the overall design - perhaps taking another look at the styling on the stock VF500F fender as inspiration for a modified F2 fender will lead to a better fit.

5x5. I don't think the centerstand will clear a 160 but not a deal breaker. You've done excellent work!

With this in mind I have to say it looks like the F2 forks will indeed fit.

I would like to get JD's take on this, as he has noted many times that F2 forks will not work...

Looking good. I powder coated the rims on my 500 white as well. It's totally worth the time it takes to keep them clean. I can't wait to see the end result.
