IMAG0293.jpg IMAG0292.jpg So - got a bit bored today and I'm tired of the blazay stock exhaust. I pulled the luggage racks down and wanted to take off the exhaust to see if I could maybe gut the exhaust on my own. I cracked one of the rusty bolts at the mid pipe clamp so I pulled the whole damn thing off.

What a beast of a sound! I can't believe how loud that bike is without exhaust on it.
I'm sure it's not great to run it too much without the exhaust on it right?

I would assume there is enough back pressure from the cat but I don't know. Any pointers would be appreciated. I plan on having the exhaust gutted and back on this week but in the interim, I don't want to foul plugs or burn any valves.

    Thoughts?

I found that running her with open cat no mufflers and with a set of gutted mufflers on that there is not a lot of difference. The cat is causing the majority of the backpressure on the bike and doing a lot of muffling. I doubt you will cause any runability problems, plug fouling or anything else with just the mufflers off.
