1998, red. Yoshimura RS3 music attachment with K&N air filter and no snorkel (all fitted as part of "hear me" safety upgrade a few years ago). When allowed, ride in the "slow" and "medium" groups at Phillip Island (Aus.) and occaisonally pass late model GSX-Rs etc. Out brake and out corner some others despite having linked brakes, no slipper clutch, no 1:1 weight power ratio, a heavier bike, heavier rider, decade old technology and becomming old. What gives? Must be the superbly engineered bike I guess. Also, take the better half out as pillion and tour comfortably with standard long range fuel tank. Bike never misses a beat, but gets upset if not ridden regularly. Bike up on paddock stands (Feb 2007) for spring clean. Me, I'm bad with technolgy so watch me delete this entire text without posting it anywhere. cheers, Al

Thanks for the greeting Slovfr - I do have an ambition to get to the states one day and tour (6th gen might do the trick - lots of luggage capacity - I've only had 1 x test ride though). A dream of mine would be a track day at Laguna Seca - that track looks amazing on TV. If any VFR folks are heading down under from overseaas they might consider a VFR tour through New Zealand (beautiful countryside) and then some touring and track time in Australia (Phillip Island, Broadford in Victoria and/or Eastern Creek in New South Wales are good places to let your hair down - if you have any - I don't!). I'm still roaming through the VFRworld site - have found the links to OEM and after market parts to be a great find. The site looks very informative and fun. I'll heat up the barbie and have some kangaroo meat and cold beer ready anytime - just remember we drive on the left over here. cheers, Al

welcome to the group. we are glad to have you here. i'm hoping to make it down that way eventually. I'm an RN so when the kids are out of the house, I can actually work in most English-speaking countries so I could stay for a year or so and truly get to enjoy a new culture and country.

Onya Al!! 'Nothing better than showing up those young upstarts who look down their nose at Honda's finest. Welcome to the party!

I've got family down your way (lived in Port & East Malvern for about 10 years) and watched from Siberia Wayne G. win the innaugural GP - love that track!

    Cheers,

    Welcome Al,

Hope you enjoy the site as much as I have been (new too). Feels great getting the kids on the track doesn't it? Shows how good our choice is.

Like the others, I have to go "Down Under" for a GP at Phillip Isl. Best GP I ever saw was Aussie at Phillip in '89-Doohan, Gardiner, Rainey, Schwantz and Lawson - Ripper Stuff !!!
