Unless the oil tastes good, it's not good oil.

If you are talkin motor oil it usually takes about 20 posts into the morass b4 one idiot calls another idiot an ignorant asshole, which is sad cuz most of us are idiots unless you have a degree in engineering from a reputable institution of higher learning, me included, which i'm not.

    oil

for what it's worth, I ran Castrol GTX 20w-50 car oil in an 82 Honda sabre (v-4) for 14 years and 55,000 miles in NC with no issues. Changed oil and filter every 6 months or 3000 mi. And this was the motor that was supposed to have top end lubrication problems. Each time I adjusted valves, I checked the cams, and they were fine. No sludge either. Unless you race or drive in adverse conditions, any good oil will work if you change it regularly. Motorcycle oil does have a little more additives that help with the gears, since the engine and trans share oil.
