I want to upgrade my swingarm, and fork setup. What is the easiest way to do both? I would like to run a 180 tire in the back. I would like to be able to mount my fuse box and gauges to look stock. I would also need to buy the parts to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

The easiest? Buy an newer bike. Not trying to be a jerk but you are not going to get you money back oot of it and your talking aboot two separate projects that will get expensive.

Installing a complete CBR F2- F3 front end would be your best bet for a swap. What's wrong with the swingarm? A 160-170-180 rear tire will go in there but the 180 will require an offset countershaft sprocket. Don't know if a mid 90's CBR900 swinger can be made to fit. But a upgraded rear shock would work wonders for your bike.

yeah as said before the F2-F3 is the best and easiest swap to do for front and back...the swingarm can be a bit more tricky...it is possible but a lot of work(Right Toecutter!!)..u can search chuck crites BRACED SWINGARM...

I don't care about getting my money back either. This is my 4th 86 VFR, and my first 750. I plan on keeping it for life. Any help or direction to threads would be helpful.

A 180? Why you need such a wide tire?

    My 4th gen doesn't even have a 180.

    Swingarm and wheel upgrade

Rc24Rc51 it looks like you have done the F2 or F3 conversion? Those are CBR wheels correct? How did you do your swap?

naw that just a picture of bubba shuberts bike...u can go to hondavfr.org for detailed instructions on how to do swap for F2/F3 swap. Ebay is going to be your best bet for parts for the swap. the front is pretty straight forward...Just need someone to do some machining for u. Just remember for rear, its probably EASIER to use F2/F3 rear caliper bracket than having VFRS cut and rewelded to fit CBR Rotor. Search Supertex Build for details on that. Just have to find Spacers that work.

What size are people running on the 2nd gen with the F2 wheel swap? 150? 160?

Yes sir. The 4th gen went down to a 5" rim...then (I think) it went back up to a 5.5" for the 5th gen.

personally I think a 160 is plenty of tire for that bike.

    +1. I second that.

    180 is overkill.

Same with mine. I think this is probably the most economical upgrade you can do and the tires work great. Wheels look much sweeter too.

You have to be aware that putting on a wider rear tire will make the bike turn slower...

you also have to add some ride height to the rear to compensate for the smaller 17in. wheel.

also add the power ratio to it a 180 is alot of tire no doubt about that that much larger of a tire the bike will turn slow and with the add friction from the larger tire is going to slow the bike down....just my two cents
