I just installed those recently on mine. I took pics to post here, but for some reason I can't upload them from work. The install was pretty straight forward. Replace the water bottle with the one they give you, replace a crossmember bar with a longer one they supply - all that took about 20 minutes. I spent a good half day drilling/grinding the holes in the fairings though, with only one small mishap that a little touch-up paint took care of.

I'll try and post some pics tonight from home. Overall, I'm pleased with them.

Cool. thanks for the response. How would you say they will work in a tip-over ? You think they would do the job ? Anychance i could get you to go kick your bike over in the street ?:becky:
also,....where did you buy them ? Is there a place in the US that sells them ?

If it snows later today like they say it might I just might be able to pull off a low-side slide for you as a good test

They're beefy for sure, the install puts them right up against the frame and it's a rock solid feel when you grab them (no play, wiggle, etc). I've got no worries they'll hold up for what they were designed to do. I know over on VFRD someone had even posted some post-crash pics that confirmed it. In a tip-over they'd certainly save your fairings, they stick out about 3 inches or so.

I bought them straight from R&G, never found anyone in the US who sold them. Paid about $225, I received the bottle in about 2 weeks and the rest of the parts came in about 4 weeks. Not super speedy, but it's not like England is really close either.

    Hey Tori-

I would be interested in a set (black ones) if you are putting together a group order.

I'm interested. Plus I'll include my shipping/etc. to Canada. Do they ship up to Canada? If not - I do have a connection in Skagway, Alaska - where it can be shipped - and I'll pick up the following weekend.

I had a set installed months ago. I think I have some pics in my gallery. BTW, I am very happy with the sliders but have not tested them in a crash yet.

Anyone try the crash-protectors while the full set of hard bags are on the bike? Last summer I was backing up the bike in the driveway (full hardbags on) and I slipped on a dog-bone, lost my balance and the bike went over. Some scratches on the side fairing, but mostly the side bag took the main load and got the scratches. I'm hoping the crash-protectors help not only during a crash - but on a slip-up like the one last summer. Seems like the hard bags will take the brunt of the fall no matter what......but the side fairing? Geez.....sigh.

    "There's the rub"
I guess it's the question of drilling the hole for the crash protectors - in the event that you may need them. Or hope to God you never need them - and leave the fairing intact.
    I'm drilling the holes.

Not to sound like a smartass,... but DUH ! Have you ever seen crash protectors ? In most cases they have to go thru the fairings.

I have had them on a couple of bikes where I didn't have to drill at all including my FJR1300, my K1200RS, FZ6, etc. And there are ones for the VFR that do not require drilling, by Thurn of Germany, I just didn't like them.

    So Duh! back at you!:caked:

So hook us up with the other options....

p.s. sorry i was a bit grouchy, i've been sick all weekend, Just found it odd that you didn't realize how big a mounting hole they required.
