where i work there are some big high power units. stand next to that thing too long and you will feel your teeth start to loosen in the gums.

DO NOT EVER OPERATE an ultrasonic cleaner while it is empty. i fired someone b/c he did so and broke it after he somehow missed the 'fill to this level' mark and ended up destroying the heating elements. when i realized what he did i asked him "what did you think was going to clean those filters? pixie dust?"
the replacement parts were $$$$ and screwed with my parts budget. needed to fix b/c we heavily rely on it where i work.

My cleaner instructions said " turning on the unit empty will result in damage".

Then, at least you have the power of observation! DUH!
But there is no label telling you about your teeth becoming loose while staying within close proximity is there?
Maybe it's not high power enough, but we weary~~~~~

This is photo of the carb body after cleaning.
It is clean but i wish it was shinny. I read that to get them shinny I would have to also soda blast them or powder coat them.

The worst corrosion potential exists with brass mixed with aluminum.
It is almost designed to self destruct.

Anyway they last for 20 years or more.
Now the bummer is... That I have the carbs all ready to rebuild but I cannot find the old set that I had saved for rebuilding!!

I have looked everywhere and I think I must have given them away.
I am claiming old age on this. My wife assured me I am not going crazy.

If anyone needs the carb bodies please let me know.

I have one other spare set of VF1000R carbs but they are complete and do not need rebuilding. I don't want to take them apart.

I used to be a jet engine mechanic in the military and we had a large ultrasonic cleaner It would vibrate your teeth too.

I have tried soda blasting with my homemade blaster. Got a lot of white powder all over but didn't do a better job than your current carb bodies. I used 110 psi avg. Maybe the valve had too much restriction

You might try a tumbler like we use for reloading. I use "lizard litter" as a media.

That looks exactly like the Harbor Freight one. Right now they have if marked down to $69.99 w/ coupon and if your HF has cool people you can stack that never ending 20% coupon with it and make it come out to $56.

I believe a key ingredient in the soda blasting equation is water
