mine did that as well, try not to use the engine as a brake when it is running hot and turn the idle up a bit.

I have a 2007 VFR800 VTEC from new and I've never had or heard of this sort of problem. Most of my riding is around town in heavy traffic. In summer the air temp gets to around 35C and the engine regularly gets to 106C when the fan cuts in. I use engine braking constantly is this environment and the engine has never hiccuped in any form. In fact it has never given me any problems in the whole time I've owned it.

Did I get this right you are riding along at 20 or 30 miles an hour and the engine just stall's .??

    very unsafe . good luck

Hi, Mick from England here, mine's a 2005 VTEC too. Although the weather rarely gets to those sort of temperatures this side of the water, my bike does as I ride it through central London every day to work. The coolant temp is up and down to 105-6 all the way as the fan keeps kicking in to bring it back down to 100, but it has never done what you describe and I use engine braking all the time too. I'd get it to a Honda mechanic if I were you, I know they charge more but this isn't regular spannering, it's problem diagnosis and you need someone who knows VTECs, IMHO. Good luck!

No. Its happening when I slowing down and shifting from 3 to 2 gear in slow speed about 40-50 km/h,when I hit a clutch bike just go off,not when am accelerating....and its not hapening every time only when engen tem. is above 100C and even than not every time...and when its hapend I just shift in neutral and start againg with no problem...

that is an easy fix, switch the temp gauge to Farenheit, that way 100 degrees isn't really all that hot! ;-)

but no, seriously, something isn't right, I have not had anything like that happen on my '04, even when the temp is above 212F
