Installed OEM Hard Bags and Selling Two Brothers Carbon Fiber Exhaust ... Grab Rail Spacers?

As the title says I have removed my Carbon Fiber exhaust so I can sell it and re-installed the hard bags. I'll be selling the bike soon, too.

While reinstalling the hard bag mounts I noticed the grab rail spacers no longer sit flush against the rear fairing. There is now about 1/8" of air between the spacer and the plastic cowl. Is this the same for everyone with the oem hard bags? Seems hokey to me that Honda would do this (the spacers were flush with the fairing when the hard bags/mounts were not installed) so I thought I'd check with the experts.

 

I think I remember having a different (thicker) set of spacers for the grab handles that came with my oem paniers and hard bags. So if you're going back to them, there should be a thicker set of spacers too. It was about two years ago that I installed mine, and I will be happier to go check my extra parts stash to confirm that there are different spacers when I get back home in a few weeks. I hope this helps.

 

How much and where do you live ? its not the stash set is it? Pictures?

 

do the factory bags not fit with the carbon exhaust? i have the factory bags on an 04' and was just looking for an aftermarket exhaust. just picked up the bike a week ago :smile:
