well i have an 85 vf500f and all of the brake rotors are grooved
after searching online a bit the cheapest replacement rotors i could find were around $150
i was wondering if anyone here knows of anything cheaper, if ones from a different bike model that will fit on the 500, or if i should just drop roughly $450 for the rotors that i have found
(note: im heading into college this fall so im trying to save as much cash as possible)

pretty sure, i was looking around for brake options for my vf500f and found this useful thread:

Brake Rotors Cross Reference Question 84' Vf500f - VFR Discussion

"According to the EBC catalogue, a VF500 takes MD1006-LS and MD1006-RS FRONT rotors.

    -LS=Left Side, etc.

Searching their catalogue for "MD1006" shows that a 86-87 VFR 700 F/F2 Interceptor REAR rotor is also an MD1006 (obviously no left or right)

Also the 1986 VFR750 rear rotor as well.

    CBR 1000 F 93-99 rear rotor

CBR 1100 XX Blackbird 97-98 rear rotor

CBR 1100 XX Blackbird 99-03 rear rotor

And also, your own bike uses an MD1006 rear rotor as well. VF 500 F Interceptor 84-86

So any of those bikes STOCK rear rotors should bolt onto your bike. Try searching EBAY.

If you order EBC rotors brand new, you can specify an MD1006C which is a "contour" rotor like this:

    Posted Image

MD1006 equates to the following Honda OEM parts:

    45251 MF2 000
    45251 ML0 000
    45351 KM4 000
    43251 MAT 000
    43251 MZ2 000
    43351 MF2 000
    43351 MJ6 000
    43351 MM4 000
    45251 KM4 000

So whatever those bikes ^^ are, they will fit as well. I think you'll find they are the models I listed earlier, additionally the Honda 600 Silverwing mega-scooter, which I hadn't mentioned, but it's in the EBC catalogue too. Front disc will interchange with yours. "

Braking USA offers cross drilled rotors for the VF500F.

I believe that these are manufactured in Italy.

Part number: HO21FI (same part no. for the front and the rear discs). List price: $108.90.

i got the rotors that v-four linked to, they do fit the front as you guys suggested they would
i put the rear brakes on last week and they worked very well, just put the front ones on today, havent tested them yet though due to some engine issues discussed in another post, but when i do get to test them ill let you guys know how they perform =]

Good to hear, what kind of pads did you get with the pads? I just installed Goldfren ceramic carbon HH rated pads on the stock rotors and it stops like a beast now.
