Was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is the R/R for the 4th gen VFR. I can see it has been changed and am hoping that It isn't the stock one and I can forget worrying about it. (hope the picture gets posted) Photo0392.jpg

looks the same as mine on my '93. I mounted a little fan on mine to help cool it.

Nope, that's NOT a stock one. The stockers don't have fins.

I put a fan on the one on my fifth gen and spliced it into the license plate light. Drops R/R temps from around 150deg. F to 100deg. F, Definitely a good way to go. I didn't even get fancy with the attachment. I think I ran a couple real long zip-ties through the screw holes and around the plate the R/R mounts to.

You can still see the outline of where the stock one was mounted.

    Here's one UK reference:
Regulator Rectifiers - T.E. Motorcycle Spares

More by Googling, "motorcycle regulator rectifier sh 693 12" .

I would put both bolts into it. May improve heat dissipation.

Thanks for the help guys, fitted the fan anyway.
Seems like its off a VFR 400, which would make sense as they are fairly common here in SA.
