When video logging a harley passes by me in plane clothes. He was lane splitting with me on the freeway. Interesting.....

they just have a diff concept of ATGATT

next to me at a red lite not long ago, a pirate was sporting:

    HD tennis shoes and socks
    HD chaps, belt and vest
    HD tee shirt
HD do-rag, cap, and sun glasses
    a stickered up toy helmet

in his mind, he WAS all geared up, and "riding to live"

i see another guy all the time on a stretched busa
sporting a deluxe chromed nazi toy helmet.

Be kind there fellas! The new PC thing is to be nice to even some of those harleydoods even if they are "challenged". The dude on the Busa should be taken into consideration too, for as long as he lasts.

Gota love chrome domes! Dah best thing I saw and I remember where, when and what kinda bike. Pompano Beach, FL in front of a 7-11 some poor sod was on a FZ600 barefoot. That was back when we had a mandatory helmet law. Kinda makes you wonder if you saw an abortion like that today the same dude would be neked.

You gota have mercy on some of these clueless pipple out there. Dont wana be accused of being a preacha  Plus, Its worth a good laugh...

yah the other guy, I knew that, I am the sharpest pencil in the bushel ; ) btw we see people in flip flops riding motorcycles here all the time.

My wife has a thing about my feet. If I lost my pinkie toes out on a ride she would divorce me (not kidding) thats why my boots got toe slider thingies on them. On the flip side, if gawd forbid you lose your thumb in an accident they will take your big toe and make a thumb out of it. Kinda kewel and macabre at the same time.

A maxxed metaphor at best..LOL I hope nobody wants a link to knives or bushels of anything. :)

I suppose if the worst did happen and a swapsie was done, and your R/R crapped out you could always toe a ride..

Its grey with black duck tape holding the back fairing together. I got the bike from a guy that said it was never laid down. I stupid to believe him.

Its funny how you commented on my splitting, I feel more comfortable in traffic splitting compared to canyon riding lol

All the cool dudes who ride Hawgs around these parts wear those "lets pretend" skid lids. I just smile and let Darwin do his work. Always fun to watch them hop their bike up to a red light with one foot. I rode a Harley once, and told the owner the front brake was awfully stiff. He said, "Really ? No problem for me, I never use it."

Do you mean the skidlids that you can buy HD DOT stickers for at the local HD Boutique? Cool stuff there. They now are carrying HD Pampers, training bras and HD black flipflops with plastic fringe cut to length for only $19.95.

If one of those drivers had gotten distracted and swerved, you both are going to be in about the same shape, being the meat in a sandwich.

Heres an astonishing story. My girl and I were sitting outside at a restaurant on RT 66 in williams, AZ a couple weeks back. It was about 5 o'clock, and super nice outside. A group of about 6 to 8 harleys rolled by, every single one was wearing textile protective jackets, at least half face helmets, and they were all quiet as can be. My jaw dropped. Then I realized they were probably all rentals and the rental company required the safety gear...

Why thank you for the positive words. At least my body parts would be contained in my gear instead of sprawled all over the pavement with other drivers running it over. ;)

Heh, if by textile protection you mean a t-shirt that says "if you can read this the bitch fell off" then yes.

Actually I meant the new HD Kevlar Condoms, for hot harleydoods and those of other medically altered persuasion. ;)

As far as riding attire. We had an expression back when that said: "Let those who ride, decide".

I have stayed with this motto and never bitch or judge about what you want to wear while riding, it's not my business. Personally in the heat of the summer I wear a helmet, gloves and steel toed boots, My clothes are usually BDU's. In cooler weather i'll wear my leathers.

I ride road bicycles and wear spandex and a little beanie road helmet. I take many of the same risks as riding my motorcycles. Interestingly my VFR and my main road bike cost the same. I have probably 15,000 miles on it. Never gotten a licence No gas No insurance. Yeah tires are expensive I usually spend 125 dollars a year on them. I take the lane at times to prevent getting run over.
