So I tried to search this but I got no results for the 1st gens. I was just wondering what is the biggest tire I could fit on my 84 vf500 interceptor. With the 110/90-18 it's such a limited selection of tires that I can find. So I was just wondering if maybe a bigger tire would go on it safely.

I'm running a 130/90/18 rear, no clearance problems and the tire cross section is not visibly deformed. A larger tire might possibly deform somewhat on the small width stock rim.

Bridgestone shows a 140/80-18 (BT45 tire) on their website fitting a 2.75 to 3.75 rim. Keep in mind that the lower aspect ratio of this tire will decrease the rear ride height, somewhat.

    glamourindex

Best to check with the specific manufacturer though, before making your final decision.

a 140/80-18 will be a larger over all diameter then a 110/90-18 tire, not smaller.

So I should be good with a 120/90-18 and maybe like a 110 on the front? Will it look weird?

    My bad.

Thanks for the post V-Four. I checked the chart and you are correct:

    110/90-18M/C 25.8"
    140/80-18M/C 26.8"

When I purchased my old 1st gen it had a 110 on the front and a 130 on the rear.

I think it is best to stick to the stock tire sizes whenever possible.
