Hello I want to know if anyone tried to change the rear shock for a 1985 VF700s? it has an air shock which I think its not working as it should, the bike is too hard on the bumps, I have tried different settings and PSI's but its still too hard, Im not sure if thats how they all are, I also have a 1984 VF1100S and It is like riding in the air, so I am looking to replace the rear shock for the 700s, if anyone can suggest anything I would appreciated. thanks.

Classic problem. I think I have a spare stock shock. It works as well as it did when it was new - which isn't so good. Let me know if you want me to look for it. I'll give it to you if you pay the shipping. :)

thank you gentleman for your suggestions, Alaskan I appreciate the good offer but I really want something good for my VF, the thing is thats my dad's bike that I gave him as a present, he loves it, but the only problem is the suspension, specially when my mom goes with him, its really hard on them, plus they are old, so I really want my dad to enjoy riding without needing one of those special donut seats that you need when you have a hemorrhoid... haha. But I checked out the web site that Sjona2011 suggested and it looks promising, so Im going to look into it more, thanks again to you guys. ride safe

Hagon also makes a shock that will fit.

I have the Daugherty mod. Check out the pics in my album. Basically mine is a resprung F4i shock with an extended mounting bracket. I am very pleased with it. However, note that the hose to the F4i shock's external reservoir sticks out on the left side into the space occupied by the coolant overfow bottle. If you get this shock you will need to modify the bottle (heatgun) to make space for the hose and fitting. Not a big deal.
