Hi All Just had to post a pic of my 86 VFR 750 FG with an old Kerker end can fitted. The bike did have a rather quiet Motad system so I bought an old rough Motad end off ebay ( the existing can was far too good to cut up ) cut off and used the 2 :1 bit , got a 67mm to 50mm bit of stainless pipe made up and welded so the can could just slip on . Now the bike sounds great and runs well. Don't think I should have to rejet as I had a similar pipe on my 1990 vfr 750 FL and it did 150 000 miles without problems.
Nice work. Your bike looks great for it's age. In 1986, we only got the 700 in white. The 750 was RWB (which is the one that I own as well).
Hi Guys Thanks for the coments. I bought the bike a few months back off ebay .It was running on 3 ,but after doing a full survice and cleaning the carbs twice solved the problem, it has been resprayed but is very clean with only 40 000 Km (jap inport) It has a couple of wires disconected behind the seat which must have been a Jap restriction (my NSR250 had the same), it now revs in to the red with no limiter so I need to keep a eye on it . I've also put on a 15 tooth sprocket, down one tooth from origional which does make it picks up a lot better, like having another 10hp .I'm not bothered on loosing 5-10 mph on the top end as you'll locked up for that over here in Blighty now anyway.
