Saw the National Geographic show on super bike racing this evening. It will be airing again if anyone has not seen it yet.
An accident was shown of a rider accelarating out of a corner and the rear wheel sliding due to spinning. The rear wheel rotating faster than the front wheel. The rider eventually highsided.
This makes me wonder what would happen if the rider just stays on the throttle and keeps the rear wheel spinning. The rider will still be going down, but maybe a low side instead of a high side.
My question is what would be the correct action if one finds themselves in that situation? Input appreciated. BBuck

I posted the other day to watch this show! It was awesome wasn't it Buck? Especially hearing the thoughts of the racers on the events of the crashes.

Re: wheelspin question. I can work, if you look at some of the trailbraking/sliding style racers its exactly what they do to avoid rear wheel hookup coming out of the turn. With that said, you've got to have some major discipline and :laser:focus to not panic brake, which I don't have...:peace:

You stay on the gas and ride it out, steering into the slide can help too if you're a ways out of sorts. Let off the gas and you WILL highside.
