My wife wants me to sell my Red white and Blue 1986 VFR 750F. It is all original, 14,000 miles. only second set of tires. Small Dent in tank from original owner. Just need to repair the starter switch that stuck. What could I expect to get from it? Of course it is so I can get a new bike, so not all bad...

I've been trying to sell this one 86 VF500F for about a month and a half. I figured it was fair for what I paid plus all the work and money that I put into it... or am I asking too much?

and this, the first red flag of any marriage....

and you are to be commended for keeping the old viffer in such good condition. i wish everybody would realize the nostalgic value of these bikes.

a divorce. or at least a trial separation. seriously.....this is NOT cool. when i started dating who is now my wife, the first thing we did was visit my garage. "ok you see this? this is my bike. it was here long before you were, and itll be here long after youre gone. i love you and the bike both. youll learn to live with it, and itll learn to live with you, and we'll all live happily ever after." I've since married her, and the viffer still sits happily in my garage.

what, having TWO bikes in your garage is a bad thing? just remember what you have in the old vfr, and how much more difficult they are to come by year after year....

I'm not saying to kick your wife to the curb, all I'm sayin is that there's a happy medium somewhere....its just time to find it. ;)

    my $.02

    1. Your labor has no value in price determination.
    2. Regardless of the work you've done 25k miles is up there...I've seen lots of examples with <20k go for less
    3. That black seat really hurts the look. The 86 has is unique scheme...find the proper red seat to complete the look
    4. Those engine covers look like they are from a magna...it makes me think this bike has had a engine swap done

I would probably offer $800 and walk away from anything over $1200

Consider that THIS seller only wants 300 more for his classic ninja...

or more on point THIS very cherry looking VF500 w/ <10k miles for $100 LESS than your asking price

Here's another ADV deal: 84 1000F with an 85 1000R motor in it. $600, looks pretty complete but could use some TLC:

    1984 Modified Honda VF1000F - ADVrider

Maybe you just want a complete used good running VF1000R engine?
    Honda : Interceptor | eBay

Make an offer on the engine.
A spare complete engine is always a good Fathers day present right?
