My bike got stolen last night. Keep a look out for any parts that could be destinctively from it. It was taken out of Wichita, KS.

Here is a pic of it, although it had no lower fairing on it when it was stolen...

I'll post a pic as soon as I get home from work, internet is being slow and i'm late already...

Sorry to hear that. I assume you've contacted the authorities. Hopefully it will turn up.

Yea, i've filed a police report, don't figure it'll do much good... I'm assuming that i'll never see her again...

Anyways, here's some pics of the day I brought her home, although she left me without the full fairing on...

Keep an eye out for the Yoshi exhaust, I'm watching ebay and craigslist... anyone know where people generally sell bikes they steal?

And on a side note while i've got a thread, I have the F2 fairing and a set of carbs (detached from airbox but no broken lines) for sale if anyone is interested, no reason for me to hang on to them!

Well that yellow will catch the eye of anyone who recognizes the vf so you might have a chance. I had a bike stolen once and my cousin luckily spotted it a week later in the next county and we tracked it down and led the police to the house...good luck.

I moved to wichita 3 weeks ago tomorrow, Live in an apartment complex and have no where to keep my motorcycles...

I had My VF500 and my 81' Yamaha Seca 750 parked in the same stall. Last time I saw it was 8PM on tuesday night, woke up to go to work at 7:20AM Wednesday morning and the VF was gone, Seca looked untouched...

It was parked at Silver Springs Apartments in Wichita, KS.

Worst part is I spent $150 to get a new front tire put on less than 25 miles ago :/

Any certain places I should be looking for parts to show up other than ebay or craigslist?

Probably some rat that needed parts from your bike and has a VF. Hope the guy riding it gets his ass snatched up in a twister.

That type of set up stinks. Way back, when I moved out of my parents house, I lived in an apartment complex. They had garages, but there were no dividers, so if one person left their door open, a thief would have access to all drive bays. Needless to say, I had my $1000 mountain bike stolen along with a set of golf clubs, but they left the CBR600 alone. I guess I was lucky! Anyhow I was able to talk them into letting me install a divider so that I could lock my door and therefore my belongings down. I imagine that there must be a way for you to secure your bikes that are left outside.

Look for a local forum. I'd guess KS has a local sportbike forum and you'll get more eyes on the street and listening for fishy stuff.

    Here it's www.cosportbikeclub.org

I thought of a few more destinctive things on my bike, It is still running through my mind all the time...

On the guage plastic there is a cigarette lighter plug to the right of the guages.

On the plastic around the ignition switch the front side has a switch built in that used to control the radiator fan...

Yea, not much of a way I have thought of at this point, not near enough immovable objects around and never have a guaranteed parking spot... I upgraded my other bike to Full coverage and thats about the best I can think of at this point...

I bought the bike in February of 08, and my lighter adapter was similar to that, but it was actually ahole drilled through the plastic 2-3" up and 1" to the left of where that one is placed. So not something that can be removed to get rid of distinguishing marks...

I sure am gonna miss her :/ Planned to keep that bike forever!

guess it's safe to say the complex didn't have a surveillance camera? No tenants with a web cam watching the parking lot

Naw, that'd be way to handy for me!

It's a pretty nice apartment complex, but from what i've heard talking to people after this happened, there have been several vehicles broke into in the parking lot over the past few months...

Yeah, more than a few meth heads and crack heads running around in Wichita, run a tempest search to scour craigslist and feebay for your particular bike. I'll be looking for yellow 500's up here in KC.
