Does anyone care for me to document this process... I'm sure it's fairly simple. I'm swapping out the old "collector-style" headers on my 90' for this newer system. I thought if it benefited anyone I'd post some pictures. If not, then in the words of Conan the Barbarian, "to hell with you!"

    Good enough for me...

As of right now, the system is available from Delkevic.com direct or from a few suppliers who sell through Ebay (SteelesCycle.com). *The VFR750 FR-FV 92 - 98 system lists for $229.99. If you buy direct you pay much higher shipping rates than if you buy from one of the suppliers ( appx $100 compared to $20). I believe direct purchases ship from a factory in Asia; hence the high shipping rates.

I'll post some pictures after I get off of work and have had a few beers... damn, what a week.

Things to consider... Neither the headers, nor the Delkevic DS70 muffler come with the "band" to affix the two together. Those parts are oem. They also do not include the pipe clamps for connecting the front two pipes to the header assembly... There is also an exhaust gasket between the muffler and the headers which is apparently oem as well. Wow, guess I'm not working on this this weekend.

Delkevic - listen to your customers..

The clamps are attainable from ebay for approx 10-15. That being the case WHY dont delkevic source these at a discounted rate and add the cost to the headers.

This seriously pissed me off when I got my gen 5 headers and they said "use the old clamps".

It tainted the experience for me (especially when they said it came with everything I need to install it).

Glad I am not the only one who thinks this is horse shit.

I am happy with the headers though.

This is the $35 oem clamp band I bought from Babbittsonline.com; required to attach the muffler assembly to the header assembly. Still, no sign of exhaust gasket... hope it's in the mail...

Posting pictures from a smart phone is dumb ... what irony. Is that picture still huge?

    2 years later...

I would like to apologize for never documenting this... It became such a trial and error operation for me that I didn't have the patience to take pictures. Ultimately I just wanted this process to be done so I could get back to riding. I was surprised how similar the 4th gen headers were to the 3rd. There were pains in mating the front and rear header sections and I'm still not totally sure they're leak free. The subsequent carb work has been another task. To date they are still not correct.

The most important lesson I've learned so far: There is no half-ass to engine modification on bikes.

P.S. Don't install aftermarket carb kits unless you're deviating from natural aspiration.
