Hey i've been trouble finding some replacement fairings for my 90 vfr (mine tore off on the freeway). I've searched the forum and haven't found anything about replacing them except referencing the airtech website (which is an option, although not my first choice). I was wondering if anybody out there knew of a place I could order some custom fairings for my bike, or some fairings for another bike/model that would fit my bike. Anything that you all might know of would help wonderfully. thanks!!!

Your only other option is Thurn Motorsports in Germany. It will be much better quality than Airtech but will be more expensive. Your only other option is waiting patiently for the pieces to show up on Ebay which is not very often.

So there aren't any fairings for other years of this bike or other bike fairings entirely that might fit on mine with a small bit of modification at most?

    that's what he's saying.

you need 1990-1993. I think the tail sections might fit from 1990-1997

Try sourcing the motorcycle junkyards. Nothing on a 90-93 in the Chinese lines that will fit? Did you lose whole panels or some big chunks? Got pix? Maybe buy a whole bike and use it for a parts bike.. Or, maybe if its all that toasted turn it into a streetfighter.

Even the aftermarket stuff that is made specifically for the 3rd Gen still needs slight modification and is not a perfect fit. When you are talking about doing a complete swap for another generation bodywork or even a completely different model bike then you are talking about significant work. Do you have experience with bodywork or fabrication? The bottom line is that if you have to pay someone to do the work you can easily spend close to what the bike is worth between the cost of painting and fabricating new mounting points. You might just be better off donating the bike to me ha ha ha. Good luck and keep us posted.

What I'd do is donate the bike to a harleydood, let him foot the bill for the repairs; chances are that after one ride it will scare the shit out of him and he'll give it back all fixed up.

Excellent idea Billy! As a matter of fact, I saw a Harleydood laying in a ditch last weekend with his wrecked bike on top of him. I'm sure he'll be needing a new bike soon if his "old lady" allows. I was going to explain to him the relationship between safety gear and the 4 inch gash on his right arm but I am pretty confident that he realized that the leather vest he was wearing provides no protection to arms or legs.

You may have mistaken that gash as something that was associated with the get off. Easy to do since fringewhip looks much the same. ;)
