Question, on my new '09 VFR800 there is a steering lock, right? Well, I can't seem to get it to lock, supposed to turn handlebar right or left then push down on the key and turn it left. Is there something I'm not doing right? Kickstand, side or center have anything to do with it? Thanks, Robert.

    Hey Star,
Have an '08 that I have found to be finicky in that area as well. Unless the bars are exactly in the spot to allow the lock, it just won't happen. Try bringing them in and hold them to the steering stop as you try to engage the lock.
Which stand you use should not make a difference.

    Good luck!

I always lock mine and they are a little picky sometimes...have more trouble unlocking than locking. Turn your bars all the way to the left and push key in, then turn key to the left. While your doing this VERY slowly move the steering to the right and you should find the sweet spot.

    Good luck!
