Traded my '06 Honda VFR800 for this bike. Picked it up this afternoon even though there's 2 feet of snow in my yard. I'll use it to commute to work and for longer rides. 2 more months though until we have any chance of riding up here in NY. Guess it gives me time to do some mods. What should be the first one? (And yes the exhaust will be changed). Can't wait to ride this bike

Congrats! I just through my leg over one today for the hell of it and thought, WOW!...this is just as comfortable as my vfr. I'd love to take one for a spin. And you are correct, that has to be on of the worst exhausts I've ever seen on a motorcycle.:cheersaf:

Congrats, that's a very cool bike. I sat on one at the Long Beach motorcycle show last month and felt it was even more upright than my '99 VFR. If you plan on doing some longer rides & commuting, you might start looking for either a taller windshield or one with an upward lip at the top. It felt to me like it might put you more out in the wind than on a more aggressive sport-bike due to that upright seating.

As for the pipe, it's a trend. The need for quiet and emissions simply means bigger pipes. I just got the VFR1200 and that pipe is no better looking. lol So I guess my list would be windshield, pipe(s) and fenderectomy. :)

    Congrats again!!!

The windscreen is adjustable. It has 3 positions and there is a button below it. It basically tilts the screen to a more vertical position. The highest position is pretty high. I would like to find a tinted one but the aftermarket will have to catch up, hopefully by spring.

How much was it, if you don't mind me asking... I think if I were to get anything bigger, it would be a bmw s1000rr, that thing has all the bells and whistles and hp for days, and it doesn't cost very much at all compared to the other liter bikes...

Great buy! That is yet another vote against the latest no-compromise hyper-liter-bikes.
Yeah, that muffler - and there's TWO of them! It's kinda cool in a way, just too bulky looking. I don't think a traditional slip-on would look right either... You might wait a bit to increase your options. The aftermarket is slowly evolving with more modern-looking slip-ons to match some of these cool new bikes.
Would an aftermarket pipe setup still keep both sides, or go down to one side?

*Where in CNY are you? I was born in Syracuse, grew up north of there near Pulaski. Then lived in Buffalo, now NC. I will say you can ride a bit more down here!

Yep, Heatmizr was smart and talented enuff to get his ass out of Buffalo, and i admire him for that.

But, Bunkie, get real: any litre bike is a poor commuter vs. what it was designed for, and the best commuter is the smallest, lowest horsepower bike you enjoy riding.

A VFR i'll use on special outings but much prefer using a smaller VTR 250 or Hawk 650 for cross-town rides. Horses for courses.
