i've had my '07 since dec. when i get between 4 and 5 k rpm, my left foot peg get's a buzz. not very noticeable on the right. once i get over 5, the buzz goes away. everything is tight, is this a common trait with the vfr?

Now thats really odd, never heard of it before. I guess it could be a natural frequency resonance, at least thats what it sounds like. I wonder if bolting a piece of metal to the footpeg or bracket would change the natural frequency of the assembly and eliminate the buzz.

I wonder if maybe the feeler thingys on the edge of the foot peg is loose or something. Mine seem to have dissappeared.

Also those foot pegs are spring loaded. Maybe a short shot of a quality lub into the spring area might resolve this.

Make sure the mounting bolts are good and tight, the pegs are close enough to the engine to get a certain amount of vibration and can loosen up on you. One of the early things I did to my 2007 was to remove the footpeg bolts and retorque them with some blue Loctite. I don't notice any buzz on mine, but I'm not the most sensitive guy (as my wife will tell you)

i did not think about unbolting and putting on loctite. i'll give that a try. it's just odd that the right side i only get a slight buzz and the left is very noticealbe. i don't have any on my 996 at all.
