Ok. So now I've fixed the spill damage and I'm waiting on my new mirror and have to figure out what to do with the turn signals. I've been thinking about something flush mount. Maybe led's... Anywho, since I had the tank off I took off the carbs...again. And this time I may have hit some paydirt. Number 3 carb had of all things, a leaf, well actually a peice of a leaf in the carb bowl. Hmmm? I wonder if this may have had something to do with it? (sarcasm) I'm gonna be scratching my head for awhile on this one. How did it get in there? The last time I tore into the carbs I was indoors. Well, I took it for a short ride around the block and it revs over 6k. But I'm getting a lil hesitation/sputtering? Yeah, a carb sync is definitely on the todo list. I did recheck my floats and I only had to tweak one carb. The rest were dead on. I'll get back with you after I get the sync done and a better ride in and let you folks know if that was the prob. Oh, the carbs mains are 110 on 1 and 3, and 112 on 2 and 4. Still stock. I didnt get a chance to measure the needles. Daylight was a wastin.

Well folks it revs fairly smooth all over the powerband. I got it up to a 100 mph in short order. A carb sync oughta fix anything else amiss. Thank you all for your input.

Interesting. I didn't suggest fuel pump or fuel flow because the bowls will usually fill up during idle and then rev up just fine - for a few moments before it starts to starve.

glad you're sticking with it and getting it worked out.

I am if anything...stubborn. There's a fine line between stubborn and stupid I think. :)

I believe the leaf was somewhere in the vacuum circuit which drives the needles and would intermittently plug it up. Which would cause that cylinder to go lean, lose power and drag on the rest of the engine. I think that the pulling in/out worked it loose where as before I just pushed compressed air through it one way.

    work in progress...
