Hi guys, I have an 84 Interceptor and it just wont start up. I have had the bike for 3 years and it has given me no trouble till now. A few months ago my rear directional was not working so I took the tank off to trace down the problem. Once I fixed it and put the bike back together it wont fire. The same gas has been sitting in the tank for a long time now but it has stable in it. The bike will crank but not fire. choke is down, spark plugs work, battery on a charger but it just wont fire. Does anyone have any idea why it wont go? if it is the gas how hard is it to drain the carbs?

    thanks.

    Super easy to drain carbs.

Turn fuel off at petcock. Find the float bowls on the carbs. They're on the bottom of each carb. Each bowl has a screw. That screw is a valve that will allow fuel to drain out.

Wish I had a pic to give you.

When you replaced the tank, did you connect the vacuum line to the correct fitting on the petcock?

Try some new, fresh fuel. Fuel can go flat after time like a Coke looses fizzzzz, and stabil isn't a cure.
