wont move.

    Hello my bike ran fine shifted fine idled fine then I slipped on gravel and dumped it down on the left side. It will still run fine the clutch pulls in and out fine and the gears shift fine however the bike will not move. Maybe the clutch plates are stuck? shoot me any info of where to go next please. I am at a loss any help and or any thoughts would be a great help, please forward to my email which is hairyfrog@gmail.com as I do not have access to a computer at all times.

    What year? I think I would pull the slave loose to see if it was a hydraulic issue or a mechanical one just for starters. Easy to do.

    Does it shift through the gears with the engine running ok? Did you check to make sure there isn't gravel jammed in the front sprocket area?

    guys thank you both. We found the issue which is the clutch plates are worn out, now my next question is where would you all sugguest looking for clutch kits for a 1985 vf500 f preferrably it will be at a really reasonable as I am a student and in between jobs. Thank you for your help again guys.

    I am fond of factory friction plates with aftermarket springs for the older bikes. A safe play.

    Check out bikebandit.com or oldbikebarn.com if bikebandit doesn't have what your looking for. I wouldn't even look for the OEM stuff as it is likely unavailable and will be ludicrously expensive if it is.
